One hundred years had passed since the first Kwong Liang Cantonese people had left the shores of China to Jungles of Borneo. Four generations had been born, living through the World War Two, post war, Colonial days, Formation of Malaysia, Indonesian Confrontation, Communist insurgency.

Red: Bromelaid
Red is a lucky colour for the Chinese. I wore my red dress to my local Chinese New Year dinner, and I won a beautiful red pot of bromelaid.
